From 1995-99 PT Bimantara Citra assembled Hy­undai vehicles under the Bimantara trademark. In 1997 the Bimantara Hyundai Indonesia joint ven­ture was founded (Bimantara 25%, Hyundai 50%, Asriland 25%), assembling the Accent Excel un­der the Hyundai trademark in the years 1998-2002. Currently, the firm is known as PT Hyundai Indo­nesia and as of 2001 has rolled out the Accent Verna with a 1.5-liter 91-105 unit (=Korean 1999 Ac­cent). Starting in November 2001 assembly of the Prime vehicle was handled by this firm, a model replaced in July 2005 by the Atoz Prime, fitted with a 1.1-liter engine. In December 2001 the Trajet minivan, with a 2.0-liter 136 hp power plant, was added.
