Assembly volume in South Africa in 2003 - 372 vehicles and 696 pick-ups. Land
Rovers were initially assembled in South Africa from the 1950s to the mid-1980s. In December 1994 the
South African BMW branch started manufacturing the Defender, and in October 2001 its assembly was
relocated to the Ford plant. Defender is offered in an estate body version 90/110 Station Wagon,
cabrio 110

Cab, and is equipped with TD 2.5-liter 122 hp or TD 2.5-liter 113 hp engines. The
Freelander was assembled in South Africa in the years 2002-2003.
