NISSAN ALMERA TINO
Models produced in Spain:
Terrano, Pathfinder, Almera Tino, Navara pick-up (Double Cab, King Cab).
Production volume in Spain in 2003 - 56,343 passenger and
cross-country vehicles. In the years 1920-38 Ford Motor Iberica produced
passenger cars and trucks, which in later years were exported. In 1954 Ford withdrew its business
from Spain, and Motor Iberica, a company established in 1955, started the
production of the Ebro trucks. In 1973 it took over Siata company (a passenger car and
minivan manufacturer from 1960) and VIASA company (producing VIASA Willys jeeps from 1959). Between 1980 and 1986, Motor
Iberica was
gradually taken over by Nissan (from 36% to 95%), which initiated the production of the Patrol in
January 1983
and
halted it in 2001. In 1993 the Terrano II was introduced, since 2002 marketed as the Terrano,
available in two versions: TDI 3.0-liter 154 hp and TDI 2.7-liter 125 hp. In the years 1992-2001 the Serena minivan
was released. The Almera Tino minivan premiered at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show, since 2000 in production in Spain.
In February 2005 Nissan production facilities in Spain rolled out the Pathfinder SUV,
with aTD 2.5-liter 174 hp unit, and the Navara pick-up, housing a TD 2.5-liter 145-174 hp power plant.
