Production volume in Spain in 2002 - 460,006 vehicles (not
including CKD sets). General Motors assembled its cars in Spain as early as 1926-36. A lot of time passed
before GM Espana, established in 1979, initiated the production of the Corsa II in August 1982, then the Corsa III
in 1993,
and in 2000 - the Corsa IV The
vehicle is sold on the Japanese market as the Vita, Australians know it as the
Holden Barina and British customers buy it with the Vauxhall Corsa trademark.
Since the end of 2002 the Meriva minivans have been manufactured in Spain.
