CHEVROLET TFS 55 DOUBLE CAB

Production volume in Egypt in 2003 - 100 pas­senger cars and 9,136 pick-ups (including Isuzu vehicles).

Chevrolets were originally assembled in Egypt in the years 1927-58 by GM Near East. In 1983 GM and Isuzu joined forces to establish GM Egypt (at present 31% of its shares belong to GM, 20% to Isuzu). The company has been manufacturing pick-ups under the Chevrolet and the Isuzu brand na­mes since July 1985. Since 1997 the pick-up range has comprised the TFR / TFS (2.2-liter 115 hp, D 2.5-liter 78 hp, TD 2.8-liter 100 hp), based on the Isuzu Pickup from 1996, made with 72% of Egyp­tian components. Between 1998 and 2004 the company produced the SUV Frontera, identical to the Isuzu Rodeo.
