El Nasr, set up in June 1960, signed a license agreement with
Fiat in March 1961. The following year they launched the assembly, and subsequently the
production of the 1100, 1300 and 2300 Fiat models. They also operated the assembly of the Polish Fiat 125p in the years 1972-
84, the 126p in the years 1990-92 and the Polonez
between 1983
and 1992, using 15 to 30% of their own
components. Since 1973 the Nasr 128 has been in production (identical to the Italian Fiat 128 from 1969-79), equipped with a
1.3-liter 65 hp engine (148km/h), for whose
production 55% of the parts have been provided since 1981 by Zastava. The sedan Sahin
(1.4-liter 78 hp, 152 km/h or 1.6-liter 96 hp, 160 km/h) has been manufactured since 1993, 45% of its components
currently being made in Egypt, the rest coming from Tofas company in Turkey. In
the years 1996-2002 NASR released the Fiat Tempra. In September 2001 they initiated the trial
assembly and in 2003 the production of the Zastava Florida 1.4 In, with 45% indigenous
components, housing a 1.4-liter 71 hp unit (155 km/h).
