ISUZU BIGHORN

Models assembled in Malaysia: Bighorn, D-Max Double Cab pick-up.

Assembly volume in Malaysia in 2003 - 200 all--terrain vehicles and 600 pick-ups. Isuzu vehicles have been assembled in Malaysia since 1983, initially by AMN and since 1994 by MTB (80% owned by DRB-Hicom and 20% belonging to Isuzu), which also assembles vehicles by Mitsubishi, Tata, SsangYong and BMC as well as produces Hicom trucks. The Malaysian 5-door Bighorn with a 3.2-liter 205 hp or 3.1-liter 125 hp diesel engine, is the equivalent of the old Japanese Trooper SUV. In June 2005 the old Rodeo pick-up was replaced with the new D-Max Double Cab 4x4/4x2 with a TD 3.0-liter 130 hp unit. Since September 2004 these vehicles have been sold by Isuzu Malaysia Sdn Bhd, in which a 51 % share belongs to Isuzu and the remaining 49% to DRB-Hicom.
