Mazda delivery vehicles were initially assembled
in the Philippines by Francisco Motor Corp. from 1973-2001 and passenger
vehicles in the years 1993-99 by Columbian Autocar Corp. Since 2002 Ford Motor Co.
Philippines has produced Mazda cars. The Tribute SUV is equipped with a
2.3-liter 157 hp or 3.0-liter 197 hp V6 engine. Designated for export only, the 323 Protege sedan comes
with a 1.6-liter 107 hp or 2.0-liter 131 hp unit. In 2004 the Philippine Mazda
3 was released with a 1.6-liter 105 hp or 2.0-liter 141 hp plant.
