Production volume in the Philippines in 2003 - 20,620 vehicles.
From 1961-84 Toyota vehicles were produced in
the Philippines by Delta, partly under the Delta name. In 1989 the new firm T. M. P
(25% of which belongs to Toyota) re-launched Toyota vehicle construction.
Currently available are sedans: since 2001 a new Corolla Altis (1.6-liter 116 hp or 1.8-liter 145 hp), restyled in
January 2004;
and a
new Camry since 2002, later restyled in July 2004 (2.4-liter 157 hp or 3.0-liter 212 hp). During the years 1991-2002 the old
Tamaraw FX
was offered and the Tamaraw FX Revo from 1997-2002 as well as the Revo
in the years 2002-05. In February 2005 production of the 8-seater Innova minivan got underway, featuring a
2.0-liter or diesel 2.5-liter 102 hp plant, a model identical to the 2004 Indonesian Innova.
In April 2005
the
Fortuner SUV debuted with a 2.7-liter 160 hp or 3.0-liter 163 hp unit. The Vios has been
imported from Thailand since 2003.
