BETA PLUS COLO
Program: Colo Cabrio 650 / Colo Cabrio 650; tuning of the
following makes: Polonez, Daewoo, Nissan, Fiat, Opel, VW, Ford, Mercedes-Benz
and others.
Production volume in 2003 - 34 vehicles and 47 kit cars.
In 1996 Bogdan Wozowicz, design engineer and racing
driver, built the prototype of a pseudo-off--road cabrio with a canvas roof,
which he named Samba. In 1997 PROMEX bought the rights to this vehicle and launched
its production in July of the same year. Beta Plus acquired production in 2000 and released the car
as the Colo Cabrio 650. Its body is made of synthetic resins and fabrics and its original, steel
frame houses a Fiat 126 engine (652-ccm 24-35 hp, 105 km/h, 0-100 km/h in 14 s.), as well as its power transmission and
suspension systems. Since 2001 the Colo Cabrio 50 (Tini) version has been
offered, fitted with a Motor Mo-rini 50-ccm 8 hp engine. With a top speed of 45 km/h, it can be
registered as a motorcycle. A light, folding roof was designed in 1998 and a canvas door
was recently added to the design. Since 2000 the company has also been
active as a mechanical and optical tuner of numerous car makes, offering among
others their own spoilers, sills, side body moldings, grilles and headlight
masking frames. They also boost engine power output and modernize suspension
and brake systems. Prices: body kits - Colo from PLN 3,700; ready-built vehicles - Colo from PLN 14,640.
