Production volume in China in 2003 - 7,500 vehicles.
Established in 2001, the 50% / 50% partnership of the
Brillince China Automotive Holdings Ltd and BMW started production of the 318i / 325i models in
October 2003.
In 2005, they were replaced
with the latest 320i (a 2.0-liter 150 hp engine), 325i (a 2.5-liter 218 hp unit) and 330i (a
2.5-liter 218 hp plant) sedans. The 520i (a 2.2-liter 170 hp engine), 525i (a 3.0-liter 258 hp power plant) and
530i (a 3.0-liter 231 hp unit) sedans came out in November 2003.
