Chongqing Changan Suzuki Automobile, 51% of

which belongs to Changan Automobile Group,

35% - to Suzuki, and 14% – to Nissho Iwai Corp.,

was founded in May 1993. Production of the Alto

S. C. 7080 sedan, under the 1985-90 Suzuki

Alto SB 308 II license, started in November 1995. The vehicle was also produced by the mother Chan-gan Automobile Group house between 1991-97. The modernized Alto SC 7081 with a 796-ccm 36 hp unit (120 km/h), in the standard SC 7081, the city SC 7081 City Baby and the sporty SC 7081 Happy Prince versions, has been offered since 2002. Production of the Lingyang (Gazelle) SC 7130 sedan with a 1.3-liter 86 hp engine (maximum speed 170 km/h), based on the Hungarian Suzuki Swift of 1992-2003, started in November 2000. Production of the latest 3 and 5-door Swift SC 7132 hatch­back with a 1.3-liter 86 hp power plant started in April 2005.
